SAN BERNARDINO - A fired city of San Bernardino clerk pleaded guilty Monday for her role in embezzling nearly $30,000 in amusement park tickets while working in the city's human resources department, San Bernardino County district attorney spokeswoman Susan Mickey said.

Diane Lee Huston, 49, of Riverside, was charged with one count of grand theft by embezzlement, Superior Court records show.

Huston changed her plea from not guilty to guilty as part of the plea agreement, Mickey said. Huston returns to court for sentencing May 12, she said.

Details of the plea agreement were unavailable Monday.

Huston was placed on administrative leave after she was arrested Oct. 15. A City Hall official said Huston had been fired by the time she pleaded not guilty to the embezzlement charge at her Dec. 20 arraignment.
