A parolee who was being taken to jail by a sheriff's deputy received minor injuries Sunday when another motorist struck the deputy's squad car.
Jeremy Miller, 32, of Yucca Valley complained of pain and was taken to a hospital for treatment. He was then booked in jail.
A San Bernardino County sheriff's deputy was driving east on Highway 62 when he was struck by Shane Holiday of Beverly Hills around 2 a.m. Sheriff's officials said Holiday's vehicle struck the left front side of the deputy's car.
Deputies closed the 62 for about an hour while they investigated the crash.
