Nancy K. Bohl

Nancy K. Bohl, Ph.D. is a Mental Health Professional (MFT 19924) who specializes in the field of trauma. She is the Director of The Counseling Team International (TCTI), a highly successful and respected employee support service devoted to providing trauma support services throughout the nation. Dr. Bohl has been involved in the treatment of traumatic events since 1983. Since that time, she has responded to 700 law enforcement officers involved in shootings. Prominent on an international basis, Dr. Bohl has extensive background in critical incident stress management. She became a part of PCISW (Post Critical Incident Stress Workshops) after the Oklahoma bombing, traveling to Oklahoma to assist in these workshops and to the FBI Academy. She has provided her services to thousands of people involved in critical incidents and focuses on suicide, grief and trauma. Dr. Bohl is a certified trainer for the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF) and the Law Enforcement Wellness Association (LEWA). She is also a certified Master Trainer for the QPR Institute focusing on Suicide Prevention and Intervention as well as a member of the American Association of Suicidology (AAS). She is one of the past Presidents of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Psychological Services Section as well as a past President of the California Peer Support Association (CPSA). Dr. Bohl is the Director of "The Southern California Critical Incident Stress Management Team", and provides an on-going grief support group for those who have lost a loved one. She is also certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy. Dr. Bohl has served as a trainer for major law enforcement organizations such as: California Peace Officers Association (CPOA), Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC), International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF), Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST), Indian Police Academy (IPA) and the F.B.I. Academy. She has taught thousands of representatives from agencies in the U.S. and Canada. In 1999, she served on a committee for the California Peace Officers' Association (CPOA) which produced a Line of Duty Death Management System Handbook. Dr. Bohl has responded to more than 1,000 critical incidents. Her services were provided during Loma Prieta, Landers, and Northridge earthquakes, the US Airways disaster in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Charlotte, South Carolina. She helped those impacted by the Los Angeles riots, Hurricanes Andrew and Katrina, the Federal building bombing in Oklahoma City, the Tornado in Oklahoma and the Unabomber incident in Sacramento, California. Dr. Bohl also had the opportunity to provide her services to ATF, after the Waco, Texas incident. She responded to the TWA Flight 800 disaster in Long Island, New York, the Typhoon disaster in Guam and the Alaska Air Disaster in Los Angeles. Her services were also used for the Springfield, Oregon, Littleton, Colorado, Santana, California, Cajon, California and Red Lake, Minnesota school shootings. She led a team of Mental Health Professionals in assisting those severely impacted by the Terrorist Attacks in New York. While in New York she was sent to the Pentagon to provide her services. Her team also responded to the California Wildfires of 2003 and more recently they assisted the U.S. Forest Service in the loss of Engine 57 firefighters in the Esperanza Fire of 2006..
