The 19-year-old son of former Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez was arrested Tuesday along with three others in the stabbing death of a 22-year-old college student in San Diego.
Esteban Nunez was arrested on suspicion of murder at his father's home in Elk Grove, outside Sacramento, San Diego police said. He will be taken to San Diego, where he will face one count of murder and three counts of assault with a deadly weapon.
Ryan Jett, Leshanor Thomas and Rafael Garcia, all 19, were also arrested and will face the same charges, police said.
Police said the four men got into a fight with the victim, Luis Santos, as they left a party near San Diego State on Oct. 4. Three young men were stabbed and Santos died at the scene.
Nunez's spokesman, Steve Maviglio, said the former speaker would have no comment.
San Diego police detectives searched the Sacramento-area homes of the four suspects about a week after Santos' death.
