A San Bernardino elementary school vice principal was arrested Thursday night for drug charges after her husband was shot leaving a convenience store, officials said.
Allegra Michelle Fromby, 39, was booked at Central Detention Center on suspicion of marijuana for sales and transporting drugs. She posted her $15,000 bail this morning and was released.
San Bernardino police were called around 6:45 p.m. after 41-year-old Charles Fromby was shot three times as he walked out of a convenience store at 2715 W. Foothill Boulevard.
Allegra Fromby, who was coming to pick her husband up, was found to have an unknown amount of marijuana packed in her car, police said.
Linda Bardere, spokeswoman for the San Bernardino City Unified School District, confirmed that Allegra Fromby works for the district but stressed that the incident happened after school hours, was not on campus and is in no way affiliated with the elementary school.
"We are deeply troubled by the polive investigation concerning Allegra," Bardere said.
Allegra Fromby did not report to work today and has not been put on administrative leave.
"Until we receive further information, her status as an employee remains unchanged," Bardere said.
