NKorea: S. Korean Puppet Authorities' "Recommendation" to Rewrite History Textbooks Turned Down

Pyongyang, November 8 (KCNA) -- History textbook writers of south Korea called a press conference on Nov. 4 at which they clarified their stand to reject the puppet government's "recommendation" for rewriting history textbooks.

They recalled that the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of south Korea recently made "a recommendation" for revising the history textbooks which underwent screening.

They accused the ministry of joining the present conservative ruling forces in the move to tamper with history under the pretext that the textbooks were "written to serve the leftist purpose."

Holding that the "recommendation for rewriting the textbooks" would leave an indelible stain on the history, they urged Lee Myung Bak and the minister of Education, Science and Technology to apologize to the people.
